Alexander and the Wind-up Mouse

Part 1

In the story of Alexander and the Wind-up Mouse, a young mouse named Alexander feels a deep sense of longing for a friend. The people whose house he has been living in do not treat him with friendly guestures and treats. Instead they pursue him with broomsticks and screams.

One day, the depressed Alexander finds a box of discarded toys and inside of that box is a wind-up mouse.

The wind-up mouse has also been looking for a friend same as Alexander. They soon become fast friends (Continued on Part 2).

I enjoyed this story while I was growing up. More specifically I enjoyed following the little mouse named Alexander on his quest to find a friend. One of the reasons for this is that I may have related to him in a way. I mean, we're all looking for a friend in anything we do right? What better situation and character for a lonely little child to cling to than a little mouse looking for a friend?
